Punch Drunk Munky Funk is a four-piece band from Fort Collins, Colorado. Their sound is inspired by jazz, progressive funk, hip-hop, rock and a touch of dance/electronic, and is driven by improvisation and tight arrangements.
Punch Drunk Munky Funk leans towards the darker edges of sound, using guitar, bass, synthesizers, drums and percussion to push the envelope of jamming and create an experience for listeners. Their shows are high-energy and musically compelling.
The band has been touring for three years and gained a dedicated following on the Front Range. Experimenting with many sounds and directions, they have worked with several lineups to hone in on their unique voice that is dark, gritty and funky.
Punch Drunk Munky Funk is currently self-managed, books all of their own shows and conducts all of their own marketing. They have shared the stage with Victor Wooten, Larry Keel, The Motet, Trevor Hall, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros and many other nationally successful bands.
They have played at Wakarusa, Arise Festival, PardeePalooza Festival, the Mishawaka, Unify Festival and the Sustainable Living Fair. They won band competitions at both Wakarusa and Arise in 2015. Summer 2016 has them looking forward to playing at several festivals, outdoor concerts and venues all over the region.
