12 Cents for Marvin Turns 20 This Year!

Wow Fort Collins! Has it really been 20 years ago?!? They say time flies when you're having fun and I can't think of a better way to have fun than to play music with your very best friends. 12 Cents for Marvin started in the dorms at CSU and grew into a band that toured nationally with some huge names including the English Beat and Reel Big Fish just to name a few. The kids like to say "Ska is Dead" but we all know it goes through waves. 12 Cents for Marvin caught on in the 3rd Wave and were touted as one of the best ska bands in the country back in the early 2000s, bringing the party to each stage they performed on. The group grew up and with our Colorado Music Scene, supporting and cheering it on. They were a part of NewWestFest in the beginning and also when Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest took it to the next level. They have not performed for our festival since 2008 (the year of the monsoon - you remember skanking in the rain?!) so we couldn't be more excited to welcome another Fort Collins favorite back to our stage this year. Happy 20th Birthday 12 Cents for Marvin! Check out their newest video for Lie Lie Lie below and see them play today Saturday August 13th at 5:15 on the Mountain Ave Stage. And if you are feeling super nostalgic, we included a small album of photos through the years for you to enjoy below the video!
