The Blues DoGS Show Band started over 15 years ago as a Christian blues band and has evolved over the years to include a variety of genres, both Christian and secular, ranging from rock, to blues, to big band swing, to funk, to gospel, to country and R&B.

A major early innovation was the addition of a fantastic and energetic horn section, affectionately known as the Horn DoGS, to the band’s instrumentation of guitar, harmonica, and keyboard. The group prides themselves on eclectic set lists and seeks the most interesting, challenging, and unusual songs that no one else is playing, and on bringing their own Blues DoGS style to everything they do.

The band has played all over northern Colorado, including at a major blues festival and as an opener for Kenny Wayne Shepherd at the Thunder Mountain Amphitheater. The Blue DoGS are also deeply committed to their Christian philanthropic roots, and aim to use their God-given talents as musicians to serve others. They have assisted in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for countless nonprofits, service organizations, and individuals in need.

The Blues DoGS are: father-daughter vocalists Kent Obermann and Mehgan Castor, harpist/vocalist Greg Obermann, bassist/vocalist Chris Kay, guitarist Ryan Millard and drummer Paul Hoffman. The “Horn DoGS” are: Gary Brunner on sax, Matt Meuli on trumpet and Tim Clarke on trombone.
